StatSheet projects Akron to be a 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Zips are, at this point, on track for an automatic bid, and they will need to win their conference tournament as they're ranked #50 in the StatSheet StatRank. They have an 18-7 overall record and a 10-1 record in the MAC.

Over the last four games, Akron bolstered its record with wins against Northern Illinois, Western Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Toledo.

Akron has a 4-7 record against the RPI Top 100 that includes a 1-2 record against the RPI Top 50 and a 1-0 record against AP ranked teams. The Zips have a single quality win against AP #20 Mississippi State with no bad losses to speak of.

The last four teams into the NCAA Tournament with at-large bids are Ole Miss (15-9, 5-5 SEC, StatRank #53), Arkansas (17-8, 5-5 SEC, StatRank #63), Purdue (15-9, 5-6 Big Ten, StatRank #57), and Texas (16-9, 6-6 Big 12, StatRank #48).
