StatSheet's MAC Player of the Week for February 6th goes to Toledo's Rian Pearson. And last but not least, Chris Evans from Kent State is the StatSheet MAC 6th Man of the Week.
Pearson topped the MAC in scoring (27.5 pts per game). He also had 50% shooting and 10 rebounds per game. The Toledo sophomore played well for the Rockets in losses to Akron and Buffalo.
Pearson topped all scoring and rebounding for the Rockets with 29 points and 12 rebounds in an 86-72 loss to Akron. He followed that up by leading the team in scoring and rebounding with 26 points and 8 rebounds in a 72-65 loss to Buffalo.
This is the first StatSheet MAC Player of the Week award for Rian Pearson. The runner-up this week is Ohio junior Walter Offutt. Honorable mention goes to Bowling Green senior Scott Thomas. The highest ranking player from Akron was Zeke Marshall who finished eighth.
StatSheet MAC 6th Man of the Week: Kent State's Chris Evans
Junior Chris Evans, a 6-7 reserve forward, averaged 28 minutes of action over two games for the Golden Flashes. In a 67-60 win over Central Michigan, Evans added 12 points and 4 rebounds. Then in a last-minute 78-73 win over Western Michigan, he racked up 3 blocked shots and 50% shooting.
Chris Evans has won the StatSheet MAC 6th Man of the Week an amazing 4 times. Our own Quincy Diggs is runner up. Torian Oglesby, a senior forward from Bowling Green, receives honorable mention. Akron has one StatSheet MAC Player of the Week win this season.
